The Brief:
With a focus on downsizing and maximising their return on this significant property the original owners of the property approached Simon to provide a full-service solution for the development of this dual occupancy property in the popular suburb of Beaumaris
Approach:
Once appointed we set about articulating the individual design and living aspirations of our client and future tenant of the rear block.
Once defined, we appointed Peter Wilson, highly acclaimed Melbourne architect and father of Simon Wilson, to design a dual occupancy development that maximised the use of the property for both parties without impacting the visual aesthetics of a single property façade.
Running over a period of twelve months, our services expanded to include the design and building of the property, as well as handling all the critical areas associated with council and town-planning, ensuring that at each point we adhered to the strict building requirements of the area, without compromising the aspirations of our clients.
The end product saw the front property presenting a design inspired two storey property with dual living zone and central courtyard whilst the rear property sat discreetly behind this and provided a spacious single storey three-bedroom home that integrates both home and garden with open plan living area, complete with highlight windows, outdoor entertaining and landscaping and lock-up garage, designed to meet the important privacy and security needs of the incoming owner.
